What once started as a little project to keep me busy, practice my pixel art, and learn a new program, has turned into a huge project. Now I’m allocating my own money towards it, have a business set up, a co-writer/developer, and I’m looking to spending up to 2 more years diligently working hard on it.

I’ve come a long way, and have learned many many things. It’s just now hitting me how much more I understand about game design than I did before picking up Game Maker: Studio, and I feel more confident in my career as a game developer, and in my understanding of how a game is programmed and constructed. I’ve never worked so consistently on one project before, and honestly, I’m actually really scared.

It was early July 2014 that I first picked up GM:S, and shortly decided to start working on a game called “Mydhilde”. It was later that year that I realized that this game was going to be much bigger and more serious than I anticipated, and decided to work on it under Rightstick Studios.
Here’s a little tribute to the progress that Mydhilde has made over the past year.
